MS Football Cougars Tie

It wasn’t a win, but in some ways it felt like it for the Piedmont Academy Middle School football team.

The Cougars tied Central Fellowship 12-12 last week in Macon and showed improvements across the board.

“We certainly played better than our first game,” coach Jeff Kent said. “It wasn’t a win, but at the same time it wasn’t a loss. We played hard. It was good to see the effort we gave.”

Seventh grader Connor Olson rushed for 130 yards while quarterback Dalton Whitley connected with Dylan Coe on a fade route for a score. Owen Brady also had two receptions.

“We had several good passes,” Kent said. “We definitely stepped up our play.”

With a small number of players this fall, Kent said staying healthy will remain a key for the Middle School Cougars.

The team will return to the field next Thursday, Sept. 26 against Gatewood in Eatonton.
