Food Bank Seeks Donations

The Jasper County Community Food Bank (JCCFB) hopes to insure that every family in our community has the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with a traditional holiday meal, said Diane Davis, spokesman for the JCCFB.

To meet this goal, the JCCFB invites all individuals and organizations to donate turkeys and/or hams for distribution during the holiday season.

The food bank is accepting donations now, and anticipates a need for at least 450 turkeys and hams.

To participate, donors are asked to drop off items at food bank building on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. or drop a check in the mail with TURKEY/HAMS written in the memo section.

The Jasper County community has proven to be a generous and caring partner to the food bank, Mrs. Davis said. The need continues to be great and the JCCFB appreciates the opportunity to serve the neediest of our neighbors.

“On a day to day basis, we continue to need fresh fruit and vegetables, canned fruit and protein-rich canned meats, soups and meals,” said Mrs. Davis.

The JCCFB is located at 2171 Post Road in Monticello. Call 706-468-6061 for more information.
