Celebrate

I’m fixing to celebrate.

To celebrate is to do something special or enjoyable during a special time, occasion or event. We traditionally celebrate birthdays, weddings, promotions, anniversaries, holidays and many other happenings or times in our lives.

At this time of the year, only six days from this writing, we celebrate the most important event in the history of humankind, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who formed a new covenant with our Infinite Creator, meaning that even though we shall perish, yet shall we live again.

Before this extraordinary event, there was no forgiveness for sinners, and we were all doomed to hell. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, if we ask and are truly sorry, we are forgiven of our sins and are promised eternalness.

WOW! What great news! In fact, I believe this message is referred to as “The Good News.”

So you can bet your boots I’m going to celebrate this Christmas Day.

I’m planning to celebrate a few other minor things too. This is allowed.

I’m going to celebrate being born. The Good Book says that our Father in Haven knew us even before we were formed in our mother’s womb. That deserves another WOW! Imagine that!

I’m going to celebrate the spreading of kindness. Kindness is like honey—it’s sweet and sticks to you.

This year hasn’t been too kind to my Cousin Elroy. It seems he had accumulated a great amount of debt, and just about everything he had was repossessed or confiscated. He lost his wife and replaced her with the Devil’s Daughter, who got him into a great deal of difficulty with the law, resulting in his being incarcerated.

But there’s good news! Elroy is going to be celebrating getting out of jail on Christmas Eve, and I’m going to take him home with me for Christmas dinner and be kind to him.

I think my cousin is going to be alright, because during a recent visitation with him, he told me he wasn’t going to dwell on anything in his past unless it was something which would have a positive influence on his future.

There’s something else to celebrate—Elroy getting enlightened while he was imprisoned.

Here’s a little rhyme. I wish I could give someone else credit for it, but unfortunately, I penned it myself:

I’m fixing to celebrate all things nice.

And the Lord for fixing to give me life.

And Jesus for fixing to pay the price.
