JCMS FBLA Students Compete at Region

On Monday, January 27, 32 Jasper County Middle School students competed in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Region Leadership Conference at Jasper County High School.

The students were tested on their knowledge of various business topics and competed against other students from nine counties in the region.

Members who placed first in 11 categories were: Rebecca Bailey and Ciara Christopher for Invention Convention; Avery Jacobs in Public Speaking; Will Robinson in Business Concepts; Cole Usry in Career Exploration; Ryan Nelson in Computer Concepts; and Cambria Stone in Employability Skills.

Also, Morgan Patterson in Future Business Leaders of America Concepts; Savannah Dougherty in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts; Morgan Baker in Personal Financial Concepts; and Ireland Moore with two first place wins in Marketing Concepts and Intro to Business Communication.

Second place finishers included Ryan Nelson in Business Concepts; Jacob Parrish in Career Exploration; Bobby Franklin in Computer Concepts; Savannah Dougherty in Employability Skills; Will Robinson in FBLA Concepts; Morgan Baker in Internet Concepts; and Madison Rae in Intro to Business Communication.

Third place winners included Evan Newton in Business Computations; Devin Robinson in Business Concepts; Avery Jacobs in Business Spelling; Autumn Van Houter in FBLA Concepts; and Zoe Arena in Intro to Business Communication.

Also, Cole Usry in Marketing Concepts; DeVion Lawrence in Personal Financial Concepts; and Tyler Phillips with two third place wins in Career Exploration and Employability Skills.

Fourth place went to: Hunter Duke with two fourth place wins in Business Concepts and Career Exploration; Madison Rae in Business Spelling; Morgan Patterson in Employability Skills; Bobby Franklin in Marketing Concepts; and Gavriel McClain in Personal Financial Concepts.

Students who placed fifth were: Jeffrey Fowler in Business Computations; Autumn Van Houter in Business Concepts; Zoe Arena in Business Spelling; and Megan Haddock in Computer Concepts.

Also, Kayla Henderson in Intro to Business Communication; Ariel Nichols in Personal Financial Concepts; and Jeff Cain with two fifth place wins in Career Exploration and Marketing Concepts.

Other students participating in various competitions were: Shan Aikens, Wyatt Currie, Kinshaza Norris, Kaitlyn Wilbanks, and Christillie Wood.

The students were accompanied by adviser, Mary Tumlin and chaperone, Shannon Usry.

JCMS is expecting more great things from FBLA members participating in the state conference on February 25 at the Perry Fairgrounds in Perry.
