Prime Timers Program

Do you know about the Prime Timers program at Georgia Perimeter College? If not, it is a program for people who are 62 years old and older who would like to take some college courses tuition free?

GPC is located about 24 miles north of Monticello. It is a junior college under the umbrella of the University of Georgia. There are only two large buildings at this campus and two baseball fields.

Prime Time students can only register for courses after all regular students and staff have registered. Each course has limited seats and some may be filled before time for the Prime Timers to register. Nevertheless, there are still many courses available.

As a student there for the past five years, I only take one course a semester. Attending GPC has been a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience. If you think college and learning is only for young folk, think again. You’ll be surprised at what the old brain can remember and even learn.

If you would like to learn more go to www.gpc.edu, then click on “Future Students” and then “Senior Citizen Student,” read all about it.
