Many Events Scheduled at the Schools
The Jasper County public schools are gearing up for the end of the year, and many opportunities are available for student and parent involvement.
Parents, grandparents and guardians are always welcome to attend special programs. For instance, over 250 students in grades K-12 will perform during this Saturday’s Kaleidoscope music concert, a major fund raiser for the public schools’ music programs.
Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce and from Chris Savage at Jasper County High School. The high school will also host a free Fine Arts Night on Tuesday, April 29, featuring high school artwork and musical ensembles.
Jasper County Primary School will provide students with a Career Day tomorrow, Friday, April 25. Additional upcoming events at the primary school include an Accelerated Reader (AR) Party next Thursday, May 1, and a Field Day next Friday, May 2.
Washington Park Elementary School has plans for an AR Party on Wednesday, May 7, and a Field Day on Friday, May 9. The elementary school also invites family members to its Honors Day on Tuesday, May 13.
Jasper County Middle School is currently administering Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) today through Wednesday, April 30. They are also looking forward to a Field Day planned for Monday, May 12.
Another event set for Monday, May 12, is a retirement party for long-time Technology Director and science teacher, Morad El-Jourbagy. The community is welcome to come celebrate his service at the JCMS conference room (in the old health occupations room) from 4 to 6 p.m.
The last day of school is Thursday, May 15, and graduation is planned for Friday, May 16.
