Hints of Fall
The first hints of Fall, crisp evenings, frog choruses, crickets chirping are welcome after weeks of 90 degree plus days and mighty warm nights.
Friday night football lights up Monticello. Stadium seats are filled with admiring fans especially mom and dad, grandparents, some brothers and sisters, classmates cheering their team to victory. We hope.
Time to get out the crock pot to cook up some of those meals that taste so good, homemade chicken noodle soup, chili and beef stew. Add some golden cornbread and you don’t have to yell “Supper” twice.
Take some time this Fall for some walks and enjoy seeing nature up close. Yellow daisies are beginning to bloom and some beautiful purple flowers that grow on a long stem have appeared from no where. You may even see a deer after all you do live in the Deer Capital of the World.
Leaves are falling, but surely there will be some colorful foliage for us to enjoy in the coming weeks. In the meantime, enjoy your Fall, Ya’ll!
