Happy Easter

Jasper County is abuzz with lots of Easter Egg Hunts in the next few days. Lucky is the one who finds the golden egg, but most kids are just happy to take home a basket full of candy eggs.

Each year over 732 million chicken eggs are sold prior to Easter. For generations, dyeing many of these eggs has been a tradition. But, what do you do with all those eggs after the hunts? You can only eat so much egg salad.

Along with the sale of millions of candy eggs is the most unlikely of Easter delicacies sold, The Peeps. Over five million Peeps are sold each year. Scientists have discovered that Peeps have a unlimited shelf life. Whatever are they made of?

The most expensive eggs ever made are the Faberge eggs. Last year, a scrap dealer in the Midwest United States thought his lucky find of a golden egg in some scrap would net him at least $500 when melted down.

Luckily, before he had the egg melted he discovered that he had found a long lost Faberge egg estimated to be valued at $33 million.

The incredible eatable egg as the commercial says is just that and more. Happy hunting!
