City Reports Minor Problems
The city of Monticello has reported there was a city-wide power outage Sunday evening about 7:20 p.m. that lasted 10-15 minutes.
The city was not responsible for that outage, and would like to let all of their customers know that. The problem came from a fault on the transmission line that feeds Monticello, so Georgia Power reacted to it, and fixed the problem.
On Tuesday, the fire department was called to City Hall, as there was a strong odor, possibly of burning wires. After investigation, it was determined the cause of the smell was the microwave in the kitchen.
The faulty appliance was removed and no other problems were found, so city workers were left trying to alleviate the smell.
