Taylor Edwards Receives Community Band Scholarship
Taylor Edwards was awarded the Monticello Community Band Lifelong Music Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship that may be awarded to graduating seniors who participated in the band.
Taylor participated in eight community band concerts, playing the trombone. She also served as the drum major of the marching band, was the STAR student and was named a Kiwanis Student of the Month.
Jehan El-Jourbagy, band director, said, “Taylor is the most humble, helpful student many of us have ever had the privilege of knowing. For instance, band members play music, and many times, for whatever reason, a part may be missing. Like magic, Taylor appears with the music, helping practices to run more smoothly.”
Taylor will attend Oxford College of Emory University in the fall.
