Newspaper Appreciates Feedback
I visited the Farmer’s Market on the Square Saturday, and it was delightful.
I had the opportunity to purchase two items that I’d never heard of before. I bought black cherry tomatoes, and tomato preserves. I gave the tomatoes to Hannah, who loves cherry tomatoes, and I tried the preserves on my English muffin this morning. They were delicious.
I also bought Hannah some pickled beets, which she loves, and bought myself some chow-chow. This week I will probably buy, or order, some unique woodworking from a craftsman who has assured me he’ll be there with something new.
I enjoyed visiting with the vendors, and heard from them some of the things they’d like to see more of in the newspaper. One thing is more prior notice of things that are happening. Please, if a group you are part of is planning something special, let us know so we can promote it.
One man told me that there are things he would attend, if he knew about them. We report on them after they happen. I’ll try to do a better job of promoting upcoming meetings and such, and I ask for your help in promoting other things.
It was very interesting talking with the different vendors, and I encourage you to come out and do the same. Buy a little, visit a little, get to know your neighbors.
The Market is busy every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, and is a good place for fresh produce, canned goods, homemade arts and crafts, and special activities especially for the children.
