FFA Competes in Ft. Valley

Piedmont Academy’s FFA recently competed in three different Career Development Events at Ft. Valley State University.

The first competition was Environmental and Natural Resources which involves GPS coordinates, tree identification, wildlife identification, and the high school team had a group problem to solve. At the same time, the Farm Business Management team was competing by taking a written test that involved economics and management in farming operations.

While these students were working hard, one other was taking a quiz over the history and basics of the FFA organization by taking the FFA Quiz. The teams represented Piedmont Academy very well.

High individual scores included Chris Coogler placed ninth, Preston Tyler placed 11th, and Eli Waits placed sixth. The Junior ENR team placed third and high school Farm Business Management placed fifth.

Junior FFA members included Browning Benton, Caleb Coffey, Eli Waits, and Banks Benton. The Environmental and Natural Resources team included Clayton Carter, Preston Tyler, Andrew Chapko, and Hailey Hooper, The FFA Quiz team included Gracie Hunt and Grayson Bradley. The Farm Business Management team included Wyatt Galloway, Grayson Bradley, Bailyn Whitaker, and Chris Coogler.
