UGA Student Government President Visits JCHS
Johnelle Simpson, president of the Student Government Association (SGA) at the University of Georgia (UGA), spoke to the members and officers of the Jasper County High School (JCHS)chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Friday.
Mr. Simpson is a senior political science major at UGA who will graduate in May. He wants to work a while before entering law school in a few years. Mr. Simpson is a former FBLA member at Seminole County High School who took first place in the nation in the Public Speaking I event as a tenth grader.
He went on to make a name for himself in Georgia FBLA and now at UGA. He shared with the local FBLA members about the difference between a goal and a vision and how to make those goals and visions turn into reality. The students were excited to hear from Mr. Simpson and have already asked if he could return to speak to the entire student body at JCHS.
Mr. Simpson spoke specifically with freshman Will Parker about his vision for the future, while junior Brett Barger looked at one of the UGA publications that featured an article about the UGA senior.
