JCHS Science Teacher Is Recognized

Elizabeth Proctor, Jasper County Science Teacher, has been selected as a Society for Science & the Public Advocate.

Ms. Proctor has enthusiasm for reaching underserved students which brought her to the attention of the Director of Science Education Programs, Caitlin Sullivan. As director and manager of the Intel Science talent search, Ms. Sullivan and Victor Hall, Senior Specialist for Outreach, have organized a convening event for advocates in Washington, D.C.

The weekend meeting will gather educators to discuss how better to serve students in Science. Ms. Proctor’s selection into this prestigious group presents her with a Washington trip paid for by the Society.

With unending dedication to educating students, Ms. Proctor has always been a role model for students at the high school. This trip is well deserved and positive for the school science program and the rising bio-tech extension.
