Great Britain

I am writing this from Edinburgh, Scotland. You would not believe that we are wearing all-weather coats and scarfs today.

And this is summer here. Burrrrrrr…

We get a wee bit of USA news. The recent Brexit vote and the new Prime Minister, Teresa May, dominate the headlines and television news reports.

While in London, Don, my husband and our friend, Betty Brooks, rode the London Eye, the huge ferris wheel. I took their word for it that you can see forever from up there. We all went on a Jack the Ripper tour through the back alleys of Whitehall and learned once again that no one knows for sure who the Ripper was. We also attended Evening Song at St. Paul’s Cathedral with history dating back to 607 A.D. A real combination of activities.

Betty and Don went to the British Open in Troon, Scotland on Sunday and shared the day with over 50,000 other golf fans.

Well, better close for now, tomorrow we do a walking tour of Edinburgh and lift a pint while listening to traditional Scottish music at Sandy Bell’s Pub.
