School’s In
School’s back in, mamas are out and about, until 3 o’clock that is. Help keep our kids safe, watch out for them, because most likely they aren’t watching out with all the excitement of going back to school.
School buses are hauling our next generation, so keep an eye out for them, stay back when the buses stop. Remember once upon a time, long, long ago you were in those buses and lived to read this.
Be patient with the little ones who are just learning to count and they only have 10 fingers to help them out. Now a days, children arrive at the first grade with a lot of knowledge even though they seem to only know a two letter word that answers all your questions.
“How was your day?” “Ok.” “Do you like your teacher?” “Ok.”
Be thankful for our teachers who have studied for years to learn to teach your young and try to make history, geography, math, and spelling interesting to children who want things fast like a video game.
You never forget your favorite teacher. Just yesterday, the credit card company and I were chatting and the security question was, “Who was your favorite teacher?”
I immediately knew the answer.
Our little sponges, a.k.a. students, have minds that are traveling at warp speed sometimes, forgetting the details like homework or projects that are due Monday and only remember them Sunday night.
Lesson learned, go through their backpacks Friday afternoon, the teachers always send home notes.
Good luck to students in Jasper County, may you succeed at all you do!
