Bonjour from Paris, France.

Excuse my French, bonjour from Paris, France.

Sunday’s Paris is at rest. Cars are not allowed on the streets, trying to cut down on pollution. Lots of people in sidewalk cafes, strolling with their dogs, children on scooters, very quiet. Young and old alike walk and eat long loaves of bread like we would snack on chips or popcorn.

At 6:30 p.m. every day four brave policemen stop traffic on the busiest roundabout in the world at the Arc de Triumphe to allow a group of military veterans, a dozen students carrying large bouquets of flowers, and family members to take to the grave of their World War 1 unknown soldier. A 25-piece band plays rousing music and then everyone sings the national anthem, “Les Marseilles.”

Everyone is so friendly when asking for directions even if they just smile and point.

Be home soon, will so miss the nice autumn weather, the croissants, and the sights. Au revoir to Paris, and Hello to Monticello.
