Super Bowl Sunday

Today, February 2nd, is Groundhog Day. Each year United States citizens hold their breath waiting to find out if this elusive rat look-a-like will see his/her shadow predicting an early or late Spring. Too bad this reliable(?) source can’t predict the Super Bowl outcome. Although I am sure there is some off-shore betting house that will take that bet.

Yep, this coming Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday when about a gazillion of us sit down for hours waiting for the game to start. Talk about your hype. Atlanta Falcons, owner, employees and some lucky fans have all flown south to the Houston Super Bowl for their 2nd shot in the franchises’ 51 year history. The Falcons have been interviewed and analyzed and compared to the five time winner, the New England Patriots.

Billions of pounds of chicken wings will be eaten. Millions of pizzas will be consumed. An estimated 28 million pounds of chips will be dipped into eight million pounds of salsa and guacamole dip. Boy, we need some real big plates.

Super Bowl commercials are pretty pricey this year, 30-second for only $5 million. Some say the commercials are their favorite. Looking forward to the sexy Mr. Clean who states that “You gotta love a guy who cleans”? Or Coen Brothers directed Mercedes commercial? Yes, Pepsi is going to be selling their new product, water.

And who will Lady Gaga be as she entertains during halftime at Super Bowl LI? It’s a hard gig to follow some of the past entertainers.

Have a great time and hopefully we will be celebrating a Falcon victory Sunday night!
