TSA Travels to Athens for Conference

Eight students represented Jasper County High School (JCHS) at the Technology Student Association (TSA) State Leadership Conference last weekend at the Classic Center in Athens.

The students competed in seven events. Senior Jacob Bell placed second in the written competition of Technology Bowl, and Jacob also made it to the top eight round of Technology Bowl along with senior Glendon Graybill and freshman Cole Smith. Juniors Madison Smith and Autumn VanHouter competed in Children’s Story Team. Cole also competed in Dragster with teammate and sophomore Landon Collier. Music Production team members included Jacob and Glendon, Madison and Autumn and freshman Tarek Ahmad.

Jacob, Glendon, Madison, Autumn and Tarek also competed in On-Demand Video along with junior Alina Jablonski. Tarek also competed in Prepared Presentation. Glendon and Alina competed in Technology Problem Solving as well.

Georgia TSA prepares its members to be successful leaders in a technological society through co-curricular activities such as communication, leadership, teamwork and competitive skill development. JCHS provides students an engineering and technology education pathway programs. TSA Chapters prepare students to be successful inventors, designers, creative problem solvers, responsible citizens and leaders in a technological society. The students were accompanied by TSA advisor Tyson Harty.
