National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week starts April 23rd. This year individual change makers and the history of volunteer service will be spotlighted.
Are you a volunteer, one of those individuals who make changes in the world?
One of those individuals who week after week volunteers to make a life better.
There is such a need in Jasper County for volunteers. Every week in this newspaper there are articles about volunteer opportunities.
Mentors are needed to meet with children in our school system. Giving a child a little bit of time that they need to encourage them to make better grades, to look at the possibilities in their future, attention that may be lacking at home.
Every week volunteers gather at the Food Bank to organize incoming food, help with applications for help, distribute food to those in need.
Volunteers are needed at The Retreat. A visit even from a complete stranger can brighten a resident’s day.
If you have never volunteered, start today. You will receive the reward of knowing that you have made the world a better place to live.
Thank you to all our local volunteers, you know who you are.
