Students Visit Jekyll Island

Forty-two students from Washington Park Elementary School recently returned from a three day trip to the new 4-H center at Jekyll Island.

These students enjoyed many classes during their visit including shark dissection, marsh ecology, maritime forest development, beach ecology, sein net fishing, mermaids and manatees, dock studies, and more. The students also enjoyed a campfire with skits and s’mores.

Chaperoning this trip were three Washington Park Safety Patrol Coordinators Amy Wade, Chandra Goen, and Brandi Fair. Other chaperones included Amanda Thompson, Brady McMichael, and David Sheppard.
