Southern Humidity
Living in the South has its advantages, especially our humidity. Yes, we complain about the humidity and how you can see the air full of moisture, but all that moisture keeps our skin hydrated.
Many parts of the country are dry as a bone, for instance, Las Vegas, where they call it a dry heat. Dry heat is comparable to sticking your head in the oven. Desert people have skin that resembles dried up dirt. In the South, we have a healthy glow.
Sure it’s sweat pouring off your brow when you walk from the house to the mailbox, but millions have to use humidifiers to get this healthy glow. We get it for free.
If you have ever traveled out West, California and other states down that way, you’ve probably noticed that no one has a lawn, instead they have concrete driveways and parking pads replacing the green grass we have.
Did you know some who just have to have some green stuff in the yard have given up and brought rolls of plastic grass? Hey, it works on football fields, so why not?
Enjoy your summer, take a dip in the lake, read a book, enjoy our flowers, the ditch day lilies on Hwy. 16 and an abundance of hydrangeas in many yards.
