Dr. Newton Is Elected

The Georgia School Superintendents Association (GGSA) has a new slate of officers for the 2017-18 school year including Jasper County Superintendent Dr. Mike Newton as President-Elect.

Also elected were Tim Cochran, superintendent of Decatur County, as President; Bronwyn Ragan-Martin, superintendent of Early County, as Secretary/Treasurer; and GAEL at Large representative Steve Barker, superintendent of Coweta County.

Dr. Newton said, “I am extremely honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve GSSA and its members.”

Dr. Newton is beginning his eighth year as superintendent of the Jasper County Charter System.
