Happy UnLabor Day
Hey, Monticello, have a Happy UnLabor Day. Hope you are all off that day to celebrate the last of our official end-to-summer that was.
According to weather predictors, we should have a nice day, but it all depends on whether Hurricane Harvey turns north or east.
Food is the most important part of Labor Day fixin’s. Pork ribs are number one on the list for pig connoisseurs. There must be hundreds of recipes and advice from smokers and grillers. Is it the cooking technique? Is it the wood used in the smokers? Is it the rub or the sauce? Would any rib chief actually give out an accurate recipe? There is always a secret ingredient.
Relaxing is the number one activity for the day. Give mom a break after all she knows all about labor, literally. If you are relaxing at the lake, a pool or in your backyard, be careful.
Stay sober or get pulled over is the message from the police. Each person in a boat, any water craft or skiing must have a life vest. Have a fire extinguisher on board your boat and in your home.
Enjoy your day away from work or school.
