November Happenings
There’s nothing like a family project to bring people together. I used to love family camping trips because all six of us had a part to play to make it work. It never failed to bring us closer.
And that is what happened when our senior members and volunteers worked for three weeks to build our Deer Festival parade float with a determination to win that was unprecedented. And they did win!!! But most of all this project brought the newer members into a status of acceptance and care by all.
Celebrating the Eighth Annual Veterans Tribute and Brunch was such an honor to be a part of, integrating older values with the new. Over 80 people were packed into the Senior Center to give thanks for those who fought for our freedoms. State Rep. Susan Holmes and all of the program speakers inspired us all.
Join us for a field trip to McDonough’s Baby Janes Buffet on November 17, and Newton County Senior Center’s Variety Show on the 21st. We seek to keep you full of action and fun. These are the best years of your life. Enjoy!
