Yellow, Monticello
Yellow, Monticello.
Been wanting to write that for years? This time of year we have yellow cars, roofs, porches, driveways. How does that yellow pollen get onto the window sill of a closed and locked window?
My favorites are, of course, seeing the wind pick up and sending a wave of that yellow stuff down the street, but nothing can beat squirting the wiper fluid on the windshield as the mass of yellow becomes a holy mess of yellow swirls.
Regardless, spring is a beautiful time to behold here with dogwood trees beginning to blossom, forsythia bushes all aglow, our new peach tree, “Belle of Georgia,” budding out and most beautiful are the many varieties of azaleas, pink, coral, red, purple, and white busting out all over.
With all this renewing of Nature, Easter is right around the corner.
Have you ever heard, read, or seen on You Tube, a flashlight Easter egg hunt? Sounds like an adventure, looks like chaos and definitely needs to be held on some flat area like a football field. Besides having to run with an Easter basket, now you have to hold a flashlight. That’s talent.
Spring is traditionally time to do what else, “Spring Cleaning.” Spoiler alert if you want to do deep cleaning as it is called, start in a square foot area to clean and see if that is possible.
Many friends have told me that they were really enthusiastic about spring cleaning. Got all the items on the list to clean and all the cleaning supplies ready and before they knew it they decided to look at a magazine and try to decide which side of the room to start.
After that they went to a store to get their minds off the project. They had already gotten the Scarlet O’Hara syndrome, “I’ll think about that tomorrow.”
Ah-Choo!
