Local FBLA-ers Compete at State
Jasper County High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) member Keri Roach has advanced to the National FBLA Competition after placing fourth in the state at the Georgia FBLA Conference held over the weekend in Atlanta.
Miss Roach tested in the Healthcare Administration event. Others who attended the conference and competed at the state level were Morgan Blackwell, Accounting II; Ruby Duarte, Advertising; Ryan Nelson, Impromptu Speaking and Economics; Cole Usry, Agribusiness; and William Stewart, Intro to Business. Those who competed in the state contest by online testing but did not attend the conference were Kalyn McMichael, Word Processing & Intro to Business Procedures; Devin Robinson, Computer Problem Solving; and Ben Lynch, Intro to Business Communications.
While at the state conference, local FBLA members attended various leadership workshops with topics ranging from investing as a student to building communication skills. The group was accompanied by advisers Johnnie Sue Moore, Mary Tumlin, and Amy Scroggs, and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Director Jim Strength. The National FBLA Conference will be held June in Baltimore
