Fourteen Inducted Into Honor Society

The Piedmont Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society held its 11th induction ceremony on April 12 in the school’s gymnasium.

Membership into the National Honor Society requires students to be outstanding in the areas of scholarship, character, service and leadership. New members inducted were Zach Spivey, Rob Allgood, Ezra King, Lillian King, Deacon Robinson, Hailey Hooper, Caitlyn Young, Lucy Tuggle, Morgan Whitley, Loren Pope, Emily Mills, Cassidy Cook, Gracie Black, and Kelsey Leach.

Piedmont Academy’s Head Master Tony Tanner opened with an invocation and the pledge of allegiance. Kimberly Kummell, Piedmont’s NHS advisor, welcomed everyone and gave a short history of National Honor Society at Piedmont Academy. Current members of NHS, Mattie Johnston, Clayton Carter, Madison McCart, and Anne Marie Hildebrant spoke on the NHS values of service, leadership, scholarships, and the value of character.

Ms. Kummell and Mr. Tanner presented the inductees with certificates and each new member signed the official record book of NHS members at Piedmont Academy as he/she received a membership certificate. This official record book contains the signatures of all of the students inducted into the Piedmont Chapter NHS since its inception in 2006.
