Six Earn High School Diplomas During Summer
Several Jasper County High School seniors received their high school diplomas in a summer graduation ceremony held last Thursday in the school auditorium.
Students participating in the ceremony were Elizabeth Harley Hope Atkin, Tyler Lee McMichael, Payton Bruce Rogers, Hayden Bryce Seabolt, and Shantia Nicole Terry. Noah Douglas Hogan received his diploma prior to the ceremony.
The graduates marched in caps and gowns to “Pomp and Circumstance” with nearly 100 people in attendance. JCHS principal Buddy Cain, Jasper County Charter System superintendent Dr. Mike Newton, and Jasper County Virtual School counselor Cora Whidby all offered words to the graduates. Assistant principals Alicia Moore and Jim Strength assisted with the presentation of diplomas.
“We are so proud of these students who persevered this summer to complete the graduation requirements and earn their diplomas,” Mr. Cain said.
“They proved to themselves and others that they could do it, and now they have their high school diplomas. Their high school education is something no one can ever take away from them and they should be very proud.”
