October 12th/15th/18th 2018……………….CPR class for kids (ages 10-15)

If you have a child or grandchild under the age of 12 and they’re in a car seat or booster seat, are you SURE it’s installed correctly to keep them safe in a collision? Are you aware of the current laws in Georgia?

Next week is a nationwide awareness for the safe and proper use of child restraint systems in vehicles. You can always make an appointment at either Station 3 or the Health Department for an inspection or installation, BUT next Saturday is a joint effort at Station 3 in town from 8 a.m.-noon to have your seats inspected for free!

Fire Prevention Week is right around the corner. Have you established your family escape plan in case of a fire? Many of the elementary classes will be exploring the fire engines during the week and being taught the importance of an escape plan, fire safety, and fire prevention.

CPR classes are still accepting sign-ups with one class at capacity. Classes are limited to 15 students each.

Instruction will cover Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, Choking rescue for adults and children, and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) use. While the class is being offered for free, there is a $20 fee that is passed on for their certification card that lasts two years.

Jasper County Fire Rescue is offering these classes to our local children after school:

October 12 – 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m. & October 15 – 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.and to local

homeschool families:

October 15 – 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. & October 18 – 10a a.m.-12:30 p.m. (eight spots left)

You may bring your card fee the day of class. Parents may choose to be engaged with their child or watch separately.
