Region 14 FBLA Conference Is Held Here
More than 450 middle and high school Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) converged on Jasper County High School Monday evening for the Region 14 FBLA Conference. JCHS hosted the conference for the eighth straight year with students from more than 20 schools in 12 counties participating.
Jenna Parrish claimed first place in the Hospitality Management event and fifth in Introduction to Business Communication and will advance to the state level in both of those events.
The Business Ethics team of Julia Proctor and Ashton Whitener placed first and will advance to state, as will Ciara Christopher who placed first in Sales Presentation. Kalyn McMichael also placed first in Word Processing.
Savannah Mosley took second place in the Introduction to Information Technology event and will advance to state, as did Allie Alexander in the Introduction to Public Speaking event. Wesley Brooks also placed second in the Political Science event.
Third place winners were Amelia Bowen in Computer Applications, Rachel Dorsey in Impromptu Speaking, and Keri Roach in Public Speaking.
Jacob Parrish advanced to state in Economics and Baylor Edge advanced in Introduction to Financial Math. Keri Roach advanced in Business Calculations.
Others competitors were Abbey Moon, Matt Cain, Daciel Rodriguez, Alejandro Viera, Carly Baker, Lucy Johnston, Jackson Taylor, Mac Barton, Ethan Lynch, Aubrey Crowe, Aryn Christopher, SaBreon McGuire, Ruby Duarte, Connor Keesee, and Christopher Blakeley.
Miss Christopher also served as a Region Officer during the 2018-2019 school year and helped preside over the region awards program.
FBLA advisers Amy Scroggs and Johnnie Sue Moore expressed appreciation to the community volunteers who judged, administered tests, kept time, tallied scores, and monitored.
