Pizza Pie

By now most of us have recovered from Super Bowl fever. This event is the ultimate tailgating party.

Yes, there are thousands inside the Dome watching the game in person, but there are even more fans in the streets which probably was more entertaining. Maybe next year will up the hype since the 2020 Super Bowl will be played on 02/02/2020.

Since we just consumed millions of pizzas during the Super Bowl, it is safe to say it is, by far, the most popular food in the United States. This coming Saturday is National Pizza Day. Several cities have pizza festivals. Yum.

Pizza means “pie” in Italian. The pies come in so many varieties which just adds to its popularity. Are you a purist and love cheese pizza or go for the more exotic toppings such as pineapple or BBQ chicken? Pepperoni is the most popular topping.

In Italy, mozzarella cheese is made from the milk of the local water buffaloes. Lucky us we have several restaurants in Jasper County that serve some tasty pizzas.

Take time to enjoy our weather. Mother Nature has sent us some unusual warm weather while half the nation is snowed in. My sister lives in Wisconsin and told me one day it was -39 degrees, but were expecting a warm up to -9. Burrr. Keep it up there.
