Back from Greece

Just returned from Athens, Greece, meeting people from all over the world, even a few from the USA.

Here’s a few from our bus tour to Delphi and Meteora: a young couple from Calcutta, two very tall men from Oman who sat on the back row of the bus. I told them they were lucky to get so much room and they told me that’s where they put the Bad Boys.

When we arrived back in Athens, I couldn’t help breaking into the theme from the tv show “Cops,” “Bad Boys, Bad Boys, what ya gonna do” as the Omanians left laughing and smiling.

On the bus to the airport, I sat with a South Korean native who went to middle and high school in Philadelphia, got his BS degree in the UK and was getting his master’s at a German university.

In a local grocery store, I got an education on bees from a woman who noticed me looking at a jar of honey. She told me that she and her family are nomads and follow seasons with their bee hives.

On our walking tour of Athens, a mother and two grown sons from Israel.

Amazing, helpful, friendly Greeks. Shout out to Spiros at our hotel and to a man on the street named Steve who directed us to a roof top restaurant overlooking the Acropolis. And can I please have tzatziki sauce on everything?

The world gets smaller when you venture out into this world and off the tour buses. I rarely meet anyone anywhere that does not know about Jasper County from OUR movie. Thank you, Cousin Vinny.
