Piedmont FFA’ers Receive Awards at State Convention

On April 25-27, Piedmont Academy attended the annual FFA State Convention held in Macon.

At this event multiple FFA members were recognized for their accomplishments through the organization this year. That night they heard from the keynote speaker, Walter Bond. He spoke about setting goals and working to accomplish them without making excuses of why they can’t be achieved. He was very inspiring.

Piedmont senior Clayton Carter was recognized during the state assembly for his dedication to the FFA program in the state and his resulting accomplishments. Throughout his high school career, Clayton has worked arduously on his “proficiency” project. Clayton endured a strenuous interview process from which only three candidates emerged to compete for first place. Clayton’s proficiency project was entered in the “Diversified Crop Production” area of the competition. As a highlight of this convention, Clayton placed third in the state with his project and was awarded his “Agricultural Proficiency Award.”

Congratulations to senior Caden Clark who received his State FFA Degree on Saturday, April 27 in the awards presentation at the State Convention in Macon. The State FFA Degree is the highest degree given within the state. Caden has worked hard throughout his FFA career.

Lastly, Piedmont Academy’s FFA Chapter was recognized for 100% membership. Clayton Carter went on stage to receive this prestigious award.
