JCMS FBLA Competes at Leadership Conference
On January 27, several Jasper County Middle School students competed in the Future Business Leaders of America Region Leadership Conference at Jasper County High School.
The members were tested on their knowledge of various business topics and competed against students from 10 other counties in the region.
First place winners included Collyn Jenkins in Business Concepts, Cortney Wyman in two categories of Business Etiquette and Career Exploration, Farrah Owensby in Computer and Internet Concepts, Addison Patrick in FBLA Concepts, Tiffani McClain in Introduction to Business Communication, Khayden Hope in Microsoft Office Concepts, and Carlie Hall in Social Media Concepts.
Second place winners were William Garvin in Business Concepts, Collyn Jenkins in Career Exploration, Madison James in Digital Citizenship, Hannah Tinney in Employability Skills, Madelyn Taylor in FBLA Concepts, and Carlie Hall in Introduction to Computer Science and Coding.
The students that placed third include Khayden Hope in Business Concepts, Camara Campbell in Business Etiquette, Nathan Alexander in Business Math and Financial Literacy, Shania Victrum in Career Exploration, Addison Patrick in Employability Skills, William Garvin in FBLA Concepts, Lorilei Fowler in Introduction to Business Communication, and Colbie Ramsey in Marketing Concepts.
Fourth place winners were Zachary Ramsey in Business Concepts and FBLA Concepts, Lorilei Fowler in Business Etiquette, AnnaMarie Langford in Career Exploration, Becky Leigh Wilson in Employability Skills, and Camara Campbell in Introduction to Computer Science and Coding.
Fifth place winners were Tiffani McClain in Business Concepts, Nathan Alexander in Business Etiquette, Madison James in Career Exploration, Hannah Tinney in FBLA Concepts, and Bethany Strength in Introduction to Computer Science and Coding.
Other participants included Zachary Garvin, Mckenzie Murell, and Kyla Levester. The students were accompanied by advisor, Mary Tumlin and chaperone, Stephanie Herring.
In addition to individual awards, JCMS was awarded the Largest Local Chapter Membership in Region 14. More great accomplishments are expected from FBLA members participating at the State Leadership Conference on February 24 at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington.
