Summertime

So, seems like summer has gotten here early this year. And if you are fond of hot, humid days, sand gnats, and some sporadic downpours, then welcome to Middle Georgia. Remember the sun screen and insect spray.

Time for some cold watermelon which are really good this year. Stop off in Monticello for some ice cream at several locations or from the grocery and take home. It’s the summertime treat everyone loves.

As we don’t know the future of getting together for social gatherings, find adventure around Jasper County. Do a walk about in your neighborhood, pack a lunch and go to one of our parks, entertain the kids with a trip to a park with swings and slides, fresh air and sunshine.

If it’s too hot outside for you, plan a virtual vacation until the real thing can be had, money is no object on a virtual vacation. It’s not too late to do spring cleaning since summer doesn’t officially arrive until June 20th. Dream a little. Imagination.

Dolly Parton is known for her quotes and one is very appropriate for this time in our history, “Storms make trees take deeper roots.”
