Those advancing to the virtual state competition in March include Alora Adams, Jenna Parrish, Sara Wingham, Luke Vaughn, Malyle Thurman, JD Williams, Becky Leigh Wilson, Faith Cook, Will Garvin, Tiffani McClain, Antonio Mathura, Clint Kitchens, and Aryn Christopher.

“This was a very different kind of region conference than we’ve ever had before,” according to Amy Scroggs, FBLA adviser.

“We are accustomed to hosting the region conference and bringing in several hundred students to our school to compete, but this year we were forced to do the conference virtually.” Local students who competed either took an online test or presented their projects to a camera and then uploaded their presentation to be judged at the state FBLA office.

“It’s not much fun for the FBLA members to have to do things this way, but we are thankful they were willing to give it a try,” Mrs. Scroggs said.

“Despite everything being online, our students did a remarkable job in representing JCHS and Jasper County—as they usually do—and we appreciated their efforts.”
