Life Is Hard, But God Remains Faithful
One of my favorite activities is picking up my two sons, Harper, and Hutson, from school every day. Upon entering the truck, I always ask them, “Well, how was your day today?”
Most days my question is met with the answer, “It was fine,” or “I had a good day today.” But occasionally the question is met with an answer such as, “not so good today,” or “I’ve had better days.” We all know that feeling all too well. There are days where life is just plain difficult, and we aren’t sure how we are going to face another day.
Whether it be a failure in life or something being just plain hard, we struggle with bad news, hard days, and life not going as planned. The believer is tempted into thinking that because you are a child of the King, life is going to be easier or even more comfortable. What hard reality we must understand is that this is not what the Bible teaches us.
Scripture reveals to us that the struggle is part of the plan, it reveals that life’s failures allow us to see God’s character, His promises, and His power in a way that we have never seen before. Our natural reaction is to think that He has turned His back on us, but we must hold firm friends, and continue to run to Him in our time of doubt.
The grace that God gives is not always pleasant. Uncomfortable grace is not always what we want but it is exactly what God knows we need. Our Father in Heaven is faithful, and He will use our brokenness to show the transformation taking place inside His people.
Psalm 66:10 tells us “For you, I God, have tested us,” and friend, we sure do feel that testing some days, don’t we? But as we read on in the Psalm in verse 20, “Blessed be God, because He has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfast love from me!”
Even in the hard, even in the difficult, even in the darkest of days, our God remains faithful. His grace, even when it is uncomfortable, will provide exactly what we need. Be encouraged today that even in the difficulties of life, our God remains faithful.
