Hot, Hotter, Hottest

Yes, we are in the midst of Dog Days of Summer. Have you noticed how hot it is?

The Dog Days of Summer are so named because we are, the Earth, is tilted closest to the Sun. and dogs are suppose to go mad. As we are hot, hot, hot, those South of the equator enjoy a mild winter where night time temperatures deep into the 30’s. We will continue the Dog Days until August 11th or the 15th.

Time for cool treats, icy drinks, a dip in the pool or lake, make sure you keep your pets cool. Dogs like ice cube treats. Now is a good time to use your cellphone app, SkyView Lite, to view the planets and constellations.

Start a journal, a scrapbook, use your creative juices. Plan an imaginary trip. It’s a good time to plan an indoor activity.

School bells will soon be ringing. It seems summer for students gets shorter and shorter.

Happy Summer Monticello.
