God’s PLAN with IRAN

Introduction: Iran, for the first time, launched drone missiles into Israel. Could this be World War III? Why did Iran attack? Because Israel has not only bombed their “Consulate in Damascus” but in the process killed their top general and other military leaders who were in charge of terror attacks carried out by the proxies of Iran.

The two prominent groups are known as Hezbollah and Hamas. Needless to say, Hamas, who controls the Gaza Strip, is at war with Israel. This is due to the brutal massacre of over a thousand Israelis on October 7, 2023. Could this be World War III?

So where is Iran in Bible Prophecy?

1) God’s “plan with Iran” can be found in Jeremiah 49! (Jeremiah 49:35-36)—”Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might… And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.” Many Bible scholars acknowledge that these verses have not been completely fulfilled much like Isaiah’s description of the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17). Don’t forget. God always has the final say so. Do you agree?

2) God’s “plan with Iran” can be found in Ezekiel 38 and 39!—The exiled prophet, Ezekiel, describes a coalition of nations (Russia, Turkey, etc.) that will invade Israel sometime in the near future. With this alignment of nations is Iran (Persia Ezek. 38:5). However, according to the text, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will intervene destroying 5/6ths of the predominantly Muslim armies by an earthquake, pestilences, infighting, and hailstones.

How close are we to this event? Certainly, at the present time, all of the nations are aligned against Israel; and unfortunately, more and more Americans are doing the same with antisemitism escalating. However, the Scripture reveals that the God of the Bible is not finished with His unconditional covenant people—Israel. Many will turn to their Messiah and be redeemed and forgiven when Christ comes after the rapture and the tribulation, and in His second coming (Romans 11:25; Zechariah 12:10). This will follow Armageddon.

Keep praying for the “peace of Jerusalem”.

Conclusion: What does this mean to CHRISTians? Obviously, the Word of God has been fulfilled and will continue to be fulfilled until Jesus Christ (Bridegroom – John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) comes in the sky to meet His bride (the Church), and take her to His Father’s house. Meanwhile, those left behind on earth will face the “wrath of God” in a series of seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgements (Revelation 6-16).

Bottom line: Our crucified Savior, risen Lord, and soon coming King is in control! Why not put your trust and faith in the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ? Next, let Him take CONTROL of your life! Why? Because not only does He have a “PLAN for IRAN” but also for your life.
