We Need A Change
Things have gotten way too serious, we need a change. No one does “The Wave” anymore. It was easy to do, required no training or special equipment. According to debatable history, it was not invented at old Turner Stadium, but by a professional cheerleader(what?), “Krazy” George Henderson.
The first televised wave performance was at the 1981 American League Championship series game between Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees.
Imagine how The Wave could wake up the spectators.
This past Monday, dreaded Tax Due date, is also “National High Five Day,” NH5D. High Five began in 1977 when Los Angeles Dodger outfielder, Glenn Burke, lifted his hand high above his head and slapped palms with his fellow teammate, Dusty Baker, to celebrate a milestone home run. This celebratory expression is still in use along with various additions.
Variations include two-handed high five, the air five, and the backend high five. You can be assured there are many other variations, watch a football, basketball or baseball game.
Next game let’s see some additional enthusiasm, we need a change.
