You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!
Would you believe all the things that have happened this past week?
Computers took a vacation instead of the vacationers. The airport was their vacation highlight, sleeping on the floors, competing for food. And the shootings and the after math, thank goodness there is always someone who wants to step in.
I always remember a line from the Shakespeare play, “Henry V”, “Heavy is the head that wears the crown” and wonder if anyone thinks they are above this quote.
Now, in a day or so we can see the Olympics from Paris. The last time Paris hosted the Olympics was in 1924, 100 years ago. No Olympic Stadium built. Olympics starts July 26 and closes on August 11. NBC will carry Games. The United States will have over 550 athletes for sports ranging from swimming to break dancing.
Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, with the best transportation. 16 lines and 300 stations criss cross the city. A day ticket is seven euros— approximately seven dollars. Ah, the food. bread, croissants, cheeses, ham and cheese sandwiches, steak drenched in real butter, and of course, the best french fries in the world.
And to make your trip complete, get a crepe from one of hundred side walk vendors, watch them do their magic with pancake batter, choose a filling, carry it to the grass where you can see the Eiffel Tower and wait for the show as your mouth enjoys your crepe.
At night, the Tower painted gold glistens with ground to top, 20,000 golden strobing lights every hour for five minutes. Definitely a WOW moment. Enjoy we need good news.
