County Graduation Rate Exceeds State Average
Jasper County Charter System is proud to announce that the 4-year graduation rate of 93.59% exceeds the state average of 85.4% % by greater than 9 percentage points. The 4-year graduation rate increased in 2024 by .64 percentage points from the previous year according to the Georgia Department of Education (GADOE).
Jasper County’s overall graduation rate exceeded the state average for the seventh consecutive year. Graduation rates are determined by the number of students who graduate in four years divided by the number of students who form the adjusted cohort. According to GADOE, 115 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates at or above 90%. Jasper County ranked 59 of 180 (top 33%) public school districts statewide in overall rate comparisons.
The system also met all improvement targets established by the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) for various populations. Hispanic (100%), Black (97.30%) and White (92.78%) subgroup results shattered the established target of 90% for each population. Also, the 5-year graduation rate was adjusted to 94.23%. This is an increase of 2.2% over the previous year’s report.
Superintendent Kenny Garland stated, “I am very proud of the increase in our graduation rate for the system. Along with the SAT average score increase announced last Friday (See SAT Press Release), it is a testament to the dedication of our stakeholders taking the necessary steps to ensure our student success. These are certainly a great accomplishment for our system and most important, our students.”
