God Bless the USA
We have had a busy news week, hard to digest all those words. Hopefully, all of those words and promises will be translated into action.
What a wonderful world we would live in if we didn’t have countries that threatened our happiness and safety and we were forced to spend millions for military personnel and weapons to defend us.
As a child of the 60’s I feel I have been tested with living through three major assassinations, one on my doorstep as I worked in Memphis in 1968. April 4th, 1968 a gunman shot MLK, Jr. outside the Lorraine Motel in downtown Memphis close to my employment.
MLK was there to be with protesters who were trash collectors seeking more salary than the $1.60 an hour and because two workers were crushed to death when they fell in the back of a garbage truck with no guard rails.
It all turned into an enduring and sad mystery to this day especially to me.
May God bless the United States and help us survive against evil.
