Bill and Joanne Ragan were married December 5, 1954, at the First Christian Church in Kahoka.
William (Bill) D. and Joanne M. Ragan of Kahoka, MO will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on December 5, 2024.
Mr. Bill Ragan and the former Miss Joanne Gutting were married on December 5, 1954, at the First Christian Church in Kahoka, MO. Attendants were Miss Carol Paden and Mr. James Ragan.
Mrs. Ragan is the daughter of the late Clell and Mary Gutting. Mr. Ragan is the son of the late Harold and Helen Ragan.
They are the parents of a son Kim (Gina) Ragan of Peachtree City, GA; and two daughters, Shelly St. Clair of Holts Summit, MO, and Kerry Cole of Canton, MO. They have 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Ragan owned and operated Ragan Gas Co. for several years. Their interests have included following and supporting area basketball teams for many, many years, dancing, playing pitch, preserving and sharing Clark County history at their history building on the Kahoka square. Mr. and Mrs. Ragan have been active in their community through Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, Tuesday Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Clark County Fair, coaching and supporting their children’s baseball, softball and basketball teams in the early years to name just a few. They also attend the Kahoka Christian Church.
Mrs. Ragan was an auctioneer for many years and continues her love for auctioneering by helping with benefit auctions, she also volunteered for the Clark County Red Cross with local blood drives, presented vintage clothing and hat programs for several years and continues to lend items for use in several area productions and helped with Relay for Life.
Mr. Ragan served our country from 1951-1953 in the United States Navy and was very active in the Clark County Color Guard when needed. He also served over 30 years on the Board of Directors for the Kahoka State Bank and he managed several rentals and their farm.
On Saturday, December 7th from 2-4 pm, Mr. and Mrs. Ragan will be honored with a reception at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO where Mr. Ragan resides. All are welcome to attend. Well wishes can be sent to PO BOX 256, Kahoka, MO 63445.
