Man Is Charged with Drugs

After several months of investigations the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 17 Ridley Street early Wednesday morning.

Subsequently Jason Byrd, 33, of Monticello was arrested for three counts of sale of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Squad discovered more than 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana in the residence.

A warrant for the cocaine sale was taken on Monday. Apparently the search warrant was also taken at that time, but those are not public record until served.
