Fight at ‘Center’ Nets Arrests

Investigators with the Monticello Police Department are still interviewing people and sorting through evidence in determining if more arrests may be forthcoming from a fight that took place Friday night/Saturday morning at “the Center,” on Hwy. 11 south at the city limits, a popular party place for young people.

Chief Bobby Norris said the investigation is still under way. Currently, five people have been arrested in connection with the fight.

They include:

•Dane Michael Christiano, 23, Monticello—aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

•Quan Dameon Middlebrooks, 23, Monticello—aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

•Sheldon Umekus Carter, 27, Monticello-aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

•Quincy Terrell Sands, 21, Monticello—aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

•Clayton Elisha Besley, Jr., 23, Monticello—aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

Other persons arrested by the city included:

•Bobby Gorman Peppers, 41, Monticello—pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

•Henry W. Odom, 59, Atlanta—aggravated stalking and disorderly conduct.

•Christopher Everette Head, 36, Monticello—probation violation.

•Wilson Cody Bullard, 24, Monticello—public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Arrests reported by the county included:

•Richard Davis Johnson, II, 25, Monticello-probation violation.

•Robert Deonte Chandler, 28, Atlanta—probation violation.

•Jamarcus Antwain Berry, 28, Jackson—Jasper County Probate failure to appear bench warrant.

•Timothy Lowell Thompson, 35, Mansfield-simple battery and cruelty to children in third degree.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 47, Shady Dale—disorderly conduct.

•Marilyn Armstrong, 41, Monticello—probation violation.

•Latoya Deneen Johnson, 40, Monticello—deposit account fraud.

•William Harold Spradling, 43, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts and harassing phone calls.

•David Allan Hicks, 31, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.

•Joseph John Laudicina, 61, Monticello—violation of driving permit.
