Several Have Probation Revoked

Telly Fedinandro Banks was in Superior Court Tuesday with Judge William A. Prior, Jr., presiding.

Mr. Banks, who was on probation for the charges of identity fraud and forgery in the first degree in September of 2012, was found to have violated his probationary status by committing the new charges of obstruction, battery and cruelty to children. He was sentenced to serve 60 days in the county jail with credit for time served and 100 hours of community service while remaining on active probation supervision.

Several other Probation Revocation cases were processed as follows:

•Junior Munson, who was on probation for the charge of possession of cocaine in November of 2012, was found to have violated his probationary status via the new charge of testing positive for cocaine and alcohol. Mr. Munson was sentenced to serve 45 days in the county jail with credit for time served, and upon release get an alcohol/drug evaluation while remaining on active probation supervision.

•Kenneth Stone, who was on probation for the charge of theft by taking in August of 2011, was found to have violated his probationary status via the new charges of testing positive for marijuana and leaving the state. Mr. Stone was sentenced to 45 days in the county jail with credit for time served, and upon release to complete anger management and get an alcohol/drug evaluation while remaining on active probation supervision.

•Richard Johnson, who was on probation for unspecified charges, was found to have violated his probationary status via the new charges of failure to report and failure to report a crime. Mr. Johnson was sentenced to 45 days in the county jail and 50 hours of community service while remaining on active probation supervision.

Also, several individuals pled guilty to specified charges and were sentenced as indicated below:

•Jake Keith Hyde to conspiracy to commit VGCSA (possession of Percocet)—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and to pay $680 in fines and fees.

•Dana Gail Christian to driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and giving false information to a law enforcement officer—sentenced to 12 months probation with 72 hours to serve and to pay $1,300 in fines and fees.

•Tammy Knight to harassing phone calls—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and to pay fines and fees of $480.

•Scotty Eugene Whitehead to theft by taking—sentenced to five years to be served on probation and to pay a $55 fee.
