Sheriff’s Tactical Squad Assists Butts County

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Tactical Squad, along with nearly 100 law enforcement officers from local, state and federal agencies assisted the Butts County Sheriff’s Office with the execution of seven search warrants and the arrest of nearly 30 wanted persons, on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The Jasper County “S.T.S.” team served one of the search warrants on a residence that was selling drugs. Upon entering the dwelling the team encountered five people who were secured and taken into custody, without incident. A search of that dwelling yielded firearms, drugs and packaging materials.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Tactical Squad is comprised of seven deputies, and has received specialized training in serving high risk warrants.
