MS Lady Cougars Enjoy Sucess
The Piedmont Academy Middle School softball team has enjoyed more success on the diamond in recent outings.
Coach Dan Funt’s team defeated Windsor 8-1 last Thursday as Madison Morton worked six innings to record the win while striking out nine batters. At the plate, Madison Johnson drove in two runs while Rylee Owens, Gracie Hunt and Cassidy Cook each had one RBI.
The Lady Cougars split a doubleheader with John Milledge Academy Monday, winning the first game 5-4 while falling 6-1 in the second contest. In the victory, Morgan once again earned the win recording two strikeouts while allowing four hits and one walk.
Hunt was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run and RBI while Cook finished 1-for-3 with a run. Hailey Hooper also finished 1-for-3 with a run.
In the second game, several Piedmont players had quality performances despite the setback.
